CONNECTICUT STREET, SAN FRANCISCO

Located in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood, this three-story single-family residence sits in a prime position overlooking downtown, with unobstructed views across the city. From the outset, the project called for a full-scale renovation, including demolition back to the studs and extensive reconstruction to modernize the home while improving overall performance and livability.

To begin, the team removed existing interior finishes and outdated systems to create a clean structural shell. This approach allowed for a complete reworking of the floor plan and the introduction of updated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout. At the same time, the redesign focused on improving circulation between levels, maximizing natural light, and aligning the interior layout with the home’s views.

As a result, the updated program includes three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, each reconfigured to better support function and flow. In addition, framing modifications opened key areas of the home and accommodated larger openings while maintaining structural integrity across all three levels.

Furthermore, the scope included installing new windows and doors, upgrading insulation, and modernizing finishes throughout. Kitchens and bathrooms were rebuilt with new cabinetry, fixtures, and plumbing systems. In turn, these upgrades bring the home in line with current performance standards. Meanwhile, finish selections remain consistent and durable across all spaces.

Ultimately, the project represents a comprehensive rebuild that balances structural upgrades with thoughtful design improvements. Altogether, it delivers a home that performs efficiently and responds to both its urban setting and elevated vantage point.
