The Inner Richmond Revamp is just getting started, and we're excited to see it take shape. The design team is currently working through the plans for this classic Inner Richmond home, and we've come on board early as the general contractor to help keep those plans grounded and buildable. Once the drawings are finalized and permits are secured, we'll lead construction.
This project adds real depth to a home that's ready for it. The scope includes a horizontal addition at the rear and an entirely new third floor. Together, these moves will expand the house both outward and up.
The first floor sees the biggest shift in use. Much of it currently serves as storage and garage space. Once construction is complete, it will become true living space, with a new bedroom, full bath, exercise room, and media room. As a result, the ground floor will be just as livable as the floors above it.
The second floor is getting a full reconfiguration. The living and dining rooms, kitchen, bath, and study will shift to better support how the home is actually used, with a layout that flows more naturally from room to room.
Above that, the new third floor becomes the home's heart. It will hold three bedrooms and two baths, including a primary suite. A skylight and a lightwell bring in natural light, and a roof deck will offer a spot to take in the fog rolling over the neighborhood.
This Inner Richmond home has a lot of transformation ahead. We're looking forward to getting into the build once the design work wraps up, because that's when our part of the story really begins.
