WIKIUP DRIVE, SANTA ROSA

This 2017 North County fire rebuild takes shape as a striking three-story, split-level home. At its core, it is thoughtfully set into the hillside in the Wikiup area of Santa Rosa. Spanning 5,364 square feet, the residence is carefully positioned to capture sweeping views of the valley below. At the same time, it maintains a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

From the moment you enter, the home reveals a sense of openness and scale. At the center, the main-level great room serves as the heart of the house. Here, a vaulted ceiling finished in warm hemlock siding anchors the space. Natural light pours in from oversized aluminum windows and doors. As a result, these extend the living areas outward, creating a seamless relationship between indoors and out.

Above, in turn, the upper level introduces a distinctive glass tower and observation space designed to fully embrace the setting. From this vantage point, the views stretch across the valley, offering a quiet, elevated perspective that shifts throughout the day. Beyond this, two large half-moon decks extend from the home, connected by a sculptural spiral staircase. In addition, glass railings frame these spaces, preserving uninterrupted sightlines from every level.

Throughout the home, three bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms support both comfort and function. Meanwhile, two kitchens provide flexibility for hosting. In addition, a large wine room reflects the region’s character. Further, dedicated media and exercise rooms, a private office, and generous storage enhance everyday living. A three-car garage completes the program.

Materially, the home balances durability with warmth. A standing seam metal roof caps the structure. Meanwhile, the exterior blends cedar siding with stucco to create a clean yet grounded façade. Ultimately, the design feels both substantial and inviting—a modern hillside home shaped by its setting. Altogether, it is designed to make the most of its views.
